Have you seen darling pin cushions that you want to make but don’t get to making?  This tutorial will break it down into simple steps to easily get it made!  Then sitting next to you in your quilting sewing place you will have a cheerful Loaf of Bread Pin Cushion that will brighten your days!

Let’s get started!  Cut 10 pieces of 1 inch by 10 inches of your favorite fabric!  I created this Loaf of Bread Pin Cushion with bright Alison Glass fabric from Andover Fabrics.

Stitches your strips together and don’t forget to press your strips! 😉

I couldn’t resist adding some hand embroidery.  Using Aurifil Embroidery Floss, I stitched perpendicular to the slices of bread.

Now baste an oval as pictured below with a pearl cotton or a heavier thread for gathering purposes.  Remember just use what you have so you get it done!  Slice of Bread Pincushion with Oval Basting Stitch

Draw the strings of the pearl cotton thread until you have a shape similar to this.   Get your stuffing ready to stuff your loaf of bread.
